207 GOES AROUND THE WORLD - MALI

Picture
Ségou, Mali (Thank you Nina Bennet)

Segou, Mali

The Capital of Mali is Bamako.

The flag is green, yellow and red.

In Mali they speak French they also speak over 50 other languages.

Mali is very far from Philadelphia, it is 4,457 miles away. We would need to take a boat or an airplane to get to Mali.

We listened to a few songs by the two blind singers, “Amadou and Miriam”. Kalel liked to drum to the song. Akeem also liked the music. Tyrell wanted to know what they were singing about. He was also wondering what instruments they use to make their music.

Travis wants to know what type of snack the kids eat.

Rwanda

I had a hard time finding Rwanda on the map. It is a very small country.  They speak English, French and Kinyarwanda. They have basketball team. They make baskets. Mrs. Serra and Mrs. Munson-Jones said they think the baskets are pretty.

Rwanda had a war where many kids like me were hurt. Do the kids go to school? What food do they eat?

Rwanda is 7117 milesfrom Philadelphia. We would have to fly to Rwanda.

(Thank you Mr.Ricardo Urbina)
